This new Orlando treasure offers more than 130 wines by the ounce or bottle and delicious family style European cuisine that will delight all that enter. We simply could not pass this opportunity to try Wine Bar George while we were in Orlando on business yesterday.

The 200-seat wine bar is owned and operated by Florida native - George Miliotes. If the name doesn’t ring a bell for you try this out. George Miliotes is a Master Sommelier and one of only 249 worldwide wine professional certified by the court of master sommeliers. George also created the wine lists for popular Darden properties such as Eddy V’s and the Capital Grille. George has taken the more than 20+ years of industry and wine knowledge and combined them in to a delightfully unique and unpretentious restaurant and wine bar in the heart of Disney Springs.

When entering the truly elegant and welcoming atmosphere of Wine Bar George, it was clear that details were not overlooked. Beautiful woodwork, modern fixtures, tiled bathrooms, and other facets all combined to create a classy yet unpretentious atmosphere. George’s passion truly resonates from the truly sophisticated interior, right down to the carefully curated wines and cocktails and their hand- picked small plates and food pairings.

You feel like the “ambiance” is unlike any other. And you certainly do not feel like you are in Orlando or at any of the parks.

The CO2Meter had to try out Wine Bar George for all the reasons listed above. But we also wanted to go and visit George because he has installed our CO2 monitors to insure the safety of the Wine Bar George team.

As a lifetime industry professional George knows all the places CO2 is used or created in the wine making process. From the fermentation of your favorite cabernet all the way to the bubbles in your bubbly George has seen it all in winemaking. Yet he also clearly understands that his employees, no matter how well trained, do not. The installation of the CO2 monitor at Wine Bar George provides the entire team a level of safety preventing CO2 incidents. And it provides George a level of comfort knowing he has a device that will help protect his employees.

As we delightfully devoured our plates and sipped from our “George” glasses we had an opportunity to talk with George as he squeezed us in to his busy schedule. While our meals and wines were outstanding, and our time with George fun and informative, our time quickly came to an end. We decided to leave the food and wine to George while we went back to Ormond Beach and focused on gas detection.

We made a point to tell George, that tourists and locals alike would be mesmerized much like us and find themselves eagerly awaiting another visit to taste the delectable cuisine and savory wine selections.

When in Orlando take time to remove your Mickey ears, stow Harry’s invisibility cloak, and put away your sunglasses for a delightful respite at Wine Bar George. You will see locals and tourists alike but you most certainly will not be disappointed.
