Methane

Methane Gas Detector

What is CH4 on a gas detector?

Methane gas is a combustible gas with a chemical formula of "CH4". Methane (CH4) gas detectors are also commonly named "natural gas detectors".

How is Methane (CH4) gas detected?

Methane is mostly detected in %LEL or %VOL. It is important to note, that there are two sorts of detectors on the market, infrared and catalytic.

Infrared is less susceptible to sensor poisoning but more sensitive to moisture. Infrared is ideal for the detection of the %VOL range. Below you can browse the images sorted by our most popular Methane gas detection products, or select one of the buttons to narrow down your choices.
