Why is gas sampling so important?

When individuals look to purchase a portable gas detection device that measures by sampling, this is just a term meant to determine its detecting method.

With gas sampling detectors, they work typically by using a pump system that draws samples into the sensing chamber allowing the sensor to take fast and accurate measurements.
