CO2 Sensors: 1 Percent CO2 Sensor

Air Quality Sensors

0-1% Air Quality Sensors

For many customers looking to monitor carbon dioxide between 0-1% (0-10,000ppm) they typically are looking at measuring indoor air quality or atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2).

For indoor air quality sensing, we often recommended Senseair's S8 Miniature 10,000ppm CO2 Sensor. This sensor is designed for use in indoor control and alarm applications like portable heaters, or air ventilation. It is commonly referred to as a "leader in next-generation NDIR CO2 sensors".

How does an air quality sensor work?

It is important to understand that air quality sensors are used to detect indoor air contaminants in the air. These contaminants can include particulates, pollutants, and inert gases that may directly and negatively affect your health if not monitored. Air quality sensors are commonly used in air quality monitoring across homes, offices, classrooms, aerospace, and commercial buildings.

These low-cost sensors use a variety of methods to monitor air quality which includes the use of lasers to estimate the exact number of particles passing through a chamber in order to give the right amount of gas that passes through the sensor. Overall, an air quality sensor typically uses a precise algorithm to convert data into actual measurements needed to observe the quality of air.

What are the six levels of air quality?

  1. Carbon Dioxide
  2. Carbon Monoxide
  3. Nitrogen Oxide
  4. Ammonia
  5. Particle Pollution
  6. Sulfur Oxides
