Indoor Air Quality
When it comes to indoor air quality, carbon dioxide is the “canary in the mineshaft”. As CO2 levels rise, the quantity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odors and micro-organisms in the air rise too. That’s why HVAC engineers use carbon dioxide level transmitters to regulate airflow in modern office buildings.
In addition to air quality, a carbon dioxide can also affect your health. Studies have shown high CO2 concentrations affect your ability to concentrate on tasks. If you find yourself sleepy in the office or the classroom, it may be a buildup of CO2!
Carbon dioxide transmitters used in LEED certified and on-demand HVACR systems to conserve energy. Rather than continuously “dumping” conditioned air, a carbon dioxide transmitter with relay can turn on the heat, fans, or air conditioners when people enter the room, and turn them off when they leave.

Capnography and Medicine
Capnography is the monitoring of carbon dioxide in the respiratory gases. It is increasingly being used by emergency medical personnel and hospitals as a tool to judge the condition of patients. For example, by measuring the end-tidal CO2 (ETCO2, the level of carbon dioxide released at the end of expiration) through a mask attached to a CO2 sensor, EMS technicians can receive an early warning of a patients worsening condition.
Algae and Biofuel Production
Algae is used to transform water and CO2 into methane and oxygen. High carbon dioxide levels are required to maximize methane production, while low oxygen levels are required to protect the organisms. We offer CO2 sampling meters to insure peak algae production.
