CO2Meter recently interviewed Siping Wang, CEO, COO, and Co-founder of TetraScience to discuss the importance of CO2 safety monitoring and technologies, in their industry.
CO2Meter: 1) Tell us a little bit about your industry. How did you get started, and what is your main mission?.
Siping: "We are a technology company founded by scientists and engineers from Harvard and MIT. Our mission is to modernize research by bringing cloud software to the laboratory. We think the future of science starts by connecting all scientific equipment and better using that data.."
CO2Meter: What are your fields specialty areas?
Siping: "Our flagship product is TetraScience Lab Monitoring, a modern means of monitoring a lab's freezers, incubators, and other critical equipment. Not only do we have means to provide an easy-to-use web-based interface, but offer world-class customer support."
CO2Meter: In your experience what has been the biggest advent/change in your industry recently? What has been the most important need from your customers?
Siping: "Over the past two decades, with diminishing returns on R&D, we have seen an emphasis on efficiency and speed within our customers. They don’t have time to learn the intricacies of new software and as such, we have tried to simplify the process as much as possible."
CO2Meter: Tell us about your experience with CO2Meter products and the overall ease of use in your application?
Siping: "CO2Meter has been a great way to deliver additional value to customers. Many of our competitors do not monitor CO2 levels, which is critical for many types of science. The driver we’ve built, along with CO2 Meter support, makes installation as easy as literally plugging in the CO2 sensor into our hardware module.'"
CO2Meter: Why did you choose CO2Meter as a Safety Provider, and utilized them for your business?
Siping: "We had heard that CO2Meter was easy-to-work with and a collaborative partner. To date, that has proven to be nothing but true."
CO2Meter: Are your customers concerned more about compliance, safety, or cost when it comes to installing the monitors?
Siping: "Very much about compliance. They want to know the conditions of their experiential environments are in the parameters they have set, and to be notified as soon as there's a true emergency."
CO2Meter: Has anyone in your company or those around you experienced any unfortunate CO2 incidents?
CO2Meter: What do the next 18 months/3 years look like in your field?
Siping: "As more and more users adopt our platform, we expect the presence of modern lab monitoring to grow significantly, outpacing traditional systems, like copper wire alarms."
CO2Meter: How do you maintain your high standards of work across such a broad geographic area?
Siping: "Through a great customer support team that never quits."
