CO2Meter has announced their recent launch of a new Handheld CO2 Leak Detector (SAN-13) featuring high speed gas sensing to ensure users can find even the smallest CO2 leak points.
Carbon Dioxide leak detection technology is designed to protect and ensure the safety of employees and customers in potential hazard areas where CO2 leaks could occur.
Utilizing feedback from the gas distribution, brewing, beverage dispensing, and draft installation/service partners, the engineers at CO2Meter were able to design a CO2 leak detector that could exceed industry standards and provide accuracy, reliability, and above all else – safety.
The CO2 Leak Detector services a wide range of applications and is unique for two reasons: the device actually measures CO2 and not R-type refrigerants, and, the device takes a measurement 20 times per second. Precisely measuring the known gas this rapidly ensures that any leak point can be detected.
The detector utilizes a 20 hz NDIR CO2 sensor and a micro pump to rapidly and accurately measure the gas. Adding a large OLED display and audible alert to the IP54 enclosure allowed CO2Meter engineers to create an easy to use, lightweight, technical instrument designed for repeated use.
Because carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas, leaks are extremely hazardous. CO2 leaks can reach dangerous to life threatening levels quickly and create an extremely hazardous environment. The majority of commercial refrigeration systems, restaurant soda systems, industrial CO2 systems, and walk-in draft coolers are all potential leak points for the gas.
